Pickle ball at Barnum Recreation Center, 360 Hooker St, Denver
Every Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm.
Indoor pickle ball courts open to the public.

Interested in playing this fun new sport?  Pickle ball can be described as a hybrid of ping-pong and tennis.  If you don’t know how, Ralph will teach you, and Linda will boost your confidence by letting you beat her.  Racquets and balls will be provided at the front desk.

It’s very helpful to watch one of the many instructional videos before you play for the first time.  Pick a recent one, as the rules were updated in 2021.  For example, the video below discusses the best shoes to wear to prevent injury, and covers how to play and keep score:

Afterwards, players who want to can stroll 0.3 miles along the Burke-Gilman Trail to the Secular Hub to eat our post-game brown-bag lunches.

You do not have to be a Denver resident to use the Rec Center, but you might need to pay between $1 and $5 for your visit if you don’t have a membership or a senior discount.

Parks and Recreation is asking the public to weigh in about outdoor pickle ball courts in Barnum Park.  If you want more pickle ball options, they’re holding a virtual meeting July 14th at 5:30 pm.  Visit [www.denvergov.org/parkprojects](http://www.denvergov.org/parkprojects)
