When it comes to the topic of basic income, we often come across narratives that are simply not true - from distrust in people living in poverty, to judgements around deservedness, to the fear that people will stop working.
Working with Income Movement, I hosted a march/rally in 2021. For the 2023 Day of Action, we are using film to educate, start conversations, and change hearts and minds. Join me for this double feature film watch party.
"Raising the Floor" is the documentary of how the pandemic forced one town into a large scale basic income pilot. "Inherent Good" is a documentary that explores the concept of UBI in rural TN, in a town facing economic decline.
